VCSE Sector Working together to build a stronger,

About HOP

Through an entirely open, transparent and participatory process the sector has come together to:

We are looking forward to building closer, trust based, relationships with all of our communities and with colleagues in all sectors

This is being put into real world practice through the creation of a new Charitable Incorporated Organisation. This group of Trustees, elected from the VCSE open membership, will meet quarterly to support the development of the mission. It will also consider and review the activities of the various Work Strands as they are contributing to and learning about what is working and what more is needed, where the opportunities lie and where connections or gaps need to be addressed.

We support the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise sector through

Leadership & Advocacy

Through championing the voice of the sector, and influencing local decision making. We will do this by utilising various mechanisms such as ensuring the VCSE has representation on relevant Boards and working groups

Partnership & Collaboration

Connecting organisations to work together for community impact. Collaboration and joint enterprise are key in building a more resilient and sustainable VCSE sector. HOP will promote and support partnerships within, and across sectors that increase capacity, strengthen organisations, and empower communities. HOP will also facilitate town-wide strategic VCSE networks such as the Volunteer Network and VCSE Leadership Network, in order to promote collaboration, solution focussed best practice..

Volunteering

Promoting, supporting, and celebrating volunteers across Hartlepool. HOP facilitates the Hartlepool Volunteer Network; a network of organisations who host volunteers and want to ensure they offer the best volunteer experience and standards they can. This network is open to all organisations and groups in Hartlepool. HOP also offers a free Volunteer Package, which includes information, policies, handbooks and other governance that a group may need when starting out
